Going live starts captions on every screen and phone at once, and ending stops them and saves the transcript. Each is one button on the Console.
- Open Live Translation on the computer that captures the sound. It opens on the Console, and the status line says Ready to go live.
- Press Go live. The status line says Starting captions… for a moment, then Captions are live.
- Beside it are the time since you went live and the translation time your church has left this month. Under the captions, the Phones and Venue screens previews show what guests see.
- When the service ends, press End session. Captions stop on every screen and phone, and the transcript is saved to History.
If Go live does nothing, or going live never finishes, see Go live does nothing or is unavailable.
From the keyboard
⌘↵ on a Mac, or Ctrl+Enter on Windows, goes live. While live, the same keys ask End this session?: press Enter to end it, or Esc or Keep running to leave it going.
When a session ends on its own
- No audio for 15 minutes. The Console warns you two minutes before. Speak or check the input to keep it running.
- Paused for 45 minutes. The Console warns you two minutes before. Press Resume translation to keep it running.
- Translation time used up. The session ends when your church has no translation time left. Add hours from the Console or the Billing page to go live again.
