What SynaiConnect is, and how its parts fit together

The three surfaces — the staff portal, the member app, and the links you share with people who have no account.

SynaiConnect is one platform your church meets in three different places. Knowing which one you are in explains most of the questions people ask on their first day.

The staff portal

The website you are signed in to when you manage your church: people, groups, messages, events, giving, media, live translation. It is built for staff and volunteers with a role, and everything you can do there is decided by that role. This is where almost every article in this help center takes place.

The member app

Your congregation uses a phone app, not the portal. They see the feed, their groups, events, giving, prayer, and Marketplace if your church has it. Members cannot sign in to the portal at all — if one tries, they land on a page pointing them at the app instead.

Some things must work for people with no account at all — a donor following a giving link, a visitor registering for an event, a guest reading live captions in the service. Those pages open from a link that carries its own token, and they never ask anyone to sign in.

  • Giving pages and the donation flow
  • Event pages and event registration
  • Volunteer project (serve) pages
  • Live caption links, for reading translated captions on a phone
  • Group self-join links
  • Media watch links

Anyone with the link can open these, so treat a link as the key. If it circulates further than you intended, replace it rather than asking people not to share it.

Your organization

Everything — every person, group, message and donation — belongs to one organization, which is your church. Data never crosses between organizations. The one exception is the Connect add-on, which lets you deliberately share specific things with a specific partner church, and only what you choose. See Add-ons.
